EYFS In Brief Letter

Happy New Year!!!!!!

Our topic this half term is ‘Traditional Tales’ followed by ‘People who help us’.  This week we have retold the story of Goldilocks and the three bears.  We will also focus on Little Red Riding Hood, The Gingerbread Man, where we will be making our own gingerbread biscuits, and the story of Cinderella, which will end with the children having their own ‘ball’.

Class Outing

We will be visiting the Woodside Fire Station in February.  Full details will be sent shortly.

Dojo Points

We have introduced Dojo Points to Reception!  The children collect points for good behaviour & listening, working together, being kind, effort, etc. throughout the week and each Friday the child or children with the most points will get a Dojo certificate and reward.

Over the next week, please could you to help your child to make a story box of their favourite story like the ones below.  This can be done in a shoe box of any size. If you do not have a shoe box to hand please let us know as we some in class. Please send story boxes in by Monday 22nd January 2018.

This is a great way to encourage writing so get your child to write down in their homework books what they like about that particular story. It is important we see your child’s handwriting.  Some children can already write words independently, others can copy an adults writing which should be in lower case with a capital letter at the beginning of a sentence, for the beginning of a name and place. Please remember that the homework book is for school homework only. 

Please Remember to:

Put your child’s name on all items of clothing – including PE kits, PE bags and shoes.

Send in a spare set of underwear, socks and trousers/skirt just in case your child has an accident.
