Dear Parents and Carers,
Thank you very much for making the time and effort to dress your child in the 1940’s / Union Jack colours to celebrate Victory in Europe Day. The day was previously postponed so Year 2 and 6 could take part in the whole school celebration.
The teachers planned some great learning on this day. The children had the opportunity to read a range of diary entries written by young children, they learned about the war and created some beautiful work. Some children learnt the Morse code, some wrote descriptive pieces of writing and had the opportunity for role play activities.
Miss Mulhern organised a whole school assembly which gave the children the opportunity to show off some of their great costumes and share their work from the VE theme Day.
A huge thank to Miss Link and Mr Mbanga for setting up the coffee morning in front of the school. It was lovely having a chat with parents, carers and members of the community. Coffee, tea and cakes are free for all adults so if you missed it this week please come to the next one on Tuesday 4th June, 8:30 a.m.
Thank you very much to all the staff for their hard work this term.
Thank you PTA for our wonderful sensory room, this is another great space you have created for our children.
I hope you all have a well rested break. Enjoy the week away. I will see everyone back on time on Monday 3rd June 2019.
