Dear Parents and Carers,
This week I have been popping in and out of the classroom to find out what the children have been learning about and it has been such a lovely experience taking part in their learning journey.
Willow class have been learning the story, Goldilocks and the Three bears. They have been re-telling the story using puppets, making porridge and counting in the theme of the book. This was one of my favourite stories as a child and it’s so lovely to see another generation enjoying it.
Palm Class are learning about Transport, they have some beautiful interactive displays in their class and are learning vocabulary to make comparisons between past and present forms of transport. I look forward to seeing the children design and make their own form of transport!
Holly and Maple have been reading the text, Magic Finger, written by the very well known Roald Dahl. The children have worked exceptionally hard to re-tell and write the story. They have been working hard to learn the skill of editing and can use adverbs, prepositions and similes. Well done Year 2, keep being amazing.
Cherry Class have been learning about the Amazon Rainforest and writing non-chronological reports. Ash Class have been reading Krindlekrax, another book that is a favourite of mine to read to children. Ash class are exploring how to mange a situation which raises an issue/dilemma.
Year 5 have been working hard on their writing skills, I have witnessed steam coming out of the pencils and pens. The children are learning how to write short, engaging descriptive pieces to draw the attention of a reader.
Year 6 have been busy revising. The staff are so proud of the way the children have applied themselves in their learning this year and we wish all the children the best of luck next week.
A special well done to Maple, Ash, Oak and Cherry for their attendance.
Have a lovely weekend.
