DAVIDSON PRIMARY ACADEMY
Davidson Primary Academy (Part of the Chancery Education Trust) is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic Caretaker. The successful candidate responsibilities/duties will cover various aspects of site management including a wide range of duties connected with the fabric and grounds of the Academy. This includes: fire & security, cleanliness, porterage, monitoring contractors, routine maintenance and minor repairs, reporting to the Trust Facilities Manager and Principal on suggested improvements to the general school environment, to improve the productivity of the site management and to carry out pre-planned maintenance programmes. Assist in obtaining tenders and quotes. Undertake termly health & Safety checks with the Health & Safety Advisor. (Please see the Job Description/Person Specification within the Applicant Pack).
The working basis of this position is 40 hrs per week (5 days per week) 52 weeks of the year (Split shift: 7.00am to 12noon, 1.00pm to 4.00pm). We can offer our successful applicant 20 days annual leave per year plus bank holidays.
We are looking for a pleasant, enthusiastic, self-motivated, adaptable and hard-working person to join our support team. Good DIY and practical skills are essential and experience of working in a school/or in a trade such as building, plumbing etc. would be an advantage. The candidate will contribute to the overall ethos and aims of the Academy of achieving greater value for money in maintenance and day to day running of the Academy buildings and site. Possess good communication skills both orally and written (inc. emails) and be able to prioritise and manage workflow whilst maintaining a flexible approach in responding to urgent requests. Knowledge of health and Safety in the workplace is required for this post. (A driving licence is essential)
The successful candidate must be able to prioritise, plan and organise their workload efficiently and must be adaptable and flexible to whatever is required of them for the effective running of the school.
