Dear Parents and carers,
We have had a tremendously busy week with lots of exciting new learning taking place. The Lunch Time Ambassadors took it upon themselves to plan and deliver an assembly on healthy living. The assembly they presented included the importance of using your manners when served lunch by the lunchtime supervisors. They informed the school on eating a well-balanced diet. Remember, an apple a day keeps the doctor away! The school was also educated in food wastage. Did you know as a nation we throw away 7 million tonnes of food and drink per year? Wasting this food costs the average household in the UK £470 a year. When you do your food shopping this week—think twice! Well done to the Lunchtime Ambassadors for a great assembly.
We did not stop there with our learning. Head Girl Anika put on another great assembly on Girls Football week. This scheme is designed to get as many girls into football as possible. There are many activities going on around Croydon, click on the link to get involved.
We are ending our week celebrating St Georges day. The children looked extremely happy to be out of their school uniforms and into their red and white clothes. The children have spent the day learning about the patron saint, re-enacting the story through drama, writing a recount and producing some great art work. Mr Rampton is running a competition across the Trust, he’s seeking the best art work of St George and the dragon. I am more than sure Davidson will have some winners as the children have been very focused on this competition today! We will be holding a special assembly on Monday for each year group to share their masterpieces.
Well done everybody for yet another fantastic week. Remember to be back in your smart uniform and shiny black school shoes on Monday!
