Dear Parents and Carers,

This week Year 1 performed an assembly on Harvest.  The children read a beautiful poem and sang a lovely song in front of their parents and family members.  It was great to see so many family members attend and I would like to say a huge well done to Palm class and a massive thank you to the parents and carers for showing your support.

The PTA have hit the ground running this year. Already they have funded new play equipment for the whole school to improve the play time provision.  They have purchased a range of games to focus on improving the way children interact collaboratively.  Not only are they improving play times they are in the process of making a lovely KS1 library where the younger children can have a cosy vibrant space of their own.  The PTA are always looking for volunteers to support them so if you are interested please contact the PTA via out website.

As a school we are focusing on the subject of maths, in particular developing children’s basic skills of number facts.  Please could you support your children at home by ensuring they have secure knowledge of number bonds, times tables and division facts.  As part of the newsletter, each week I will be setting some ‘Family Maths Challenges’ for you to complete together.  Children who bring back the completed challenge to their class teacher with earn the family a ‘family sized certificate’ as well as a spot on the weekly newsletter.  I look forward to giving out some certificates next week.

Yours faithfully,

Farzana Begum

Acting Principal
