Dear Parents and Carers,
This week has been wonderful, we started the week with our Monday celebration assembly and it is great to see the different reasons children are being awarded star of the week. Some of the reasons include being an excellent role model at all times, showing a great interest in all areas of their learning, being kind to their peers and going that extra mile to support their peers. I always say that our children are our asset and I would like to thank you for promoting our school values outside of school.
So we all have our moments when we have feelings of anger, sadness, anxiety and much more. Our children know that it is okay to feel different emotions. In order to support the children to manage these feelings, members of the Pupils Parliament delivered an assembly on strategies. These strategies included deep breathing, taking ‘time out’, counting, talking about their feelings and having a good memory to think about. To further promote positive well being I have asked the children to think about their ‘feel good’ song. Our whole school feel good song for the next couple of weeks is ‘Proud’ by Heather Small.
Christmas related activities will start in the next couple of weeks at school. If you have any unwanted Christmas decorations at home please could you donate the items to your child’s class. I will be running a competition on the best decorated shared space, there will be a prize!
Have a lovely weekend.
