Newsletter w/c 29th October 2018

Dear Parents and Carers,

Welcome back to a new half term.  I hope you have all had a well rested break.

This week the learning has been centred around Black History Month.  The children have been learning about the achievements and hard work of famous role models.  Year 1 focused on sporting heroes and created some lovely profiles.  Year 2 extended on their PSHE focus of being ‘kind’, so they focused on creating a biography of Mary Seacole.

Key Stage 2 focused on the theme of ‘democracy’ and learned about key figures which included Martin Luther King, Nelson Mandela and Barrack Obama.  The children will continue the learning next week and learn about key figures in the UK.

At Davidson Primary Academy we try and encourage pupils to take part in additional curriculum services.  The school is offering guitar lessons key stage 2. The children will receive lessons during the school day.  The lessons will not be able to take place if we do not have enough children opting to take the lessons.  If this is something you will be interested in please contact the office.

As it is November, we can finally openly talk about Christmas!

Yes at Davidson Primary Academy the PTA have started organising the Winter fair which will take place on Friday 14th December.  Please volunteer your services, the children and the school need your support.

Don’t forget to complete the Family Maths Challenge this week.

Have a lovely weekend.

Yours faithfully,

Farzana Begum

Acting Principal
