This week we had 2 classes perform assemblies to their peers, parents and carers. Holly class did an amazing assembly on what they have been learning about. The children showed the parents how they have been learning to add numbers using a range of strategies, these include using Numicon, partitioning and using a number line. They also informed the audience about the Literacy text they are reading – Dick Whittington. The children focused on the moral of the story which is about working hard and reaping the rewards. Well done Holly Class.
Cherry Class performed a wonderful assembly all about ‘chocolate’ They educated the audience on the history of chocolate, which included how chocolate was invented and how it has been improved over the years. The assembly was fully of fun facts and everyone thoroughly enjoyed it. Great job Cherry class. Thank you to all the parents and family members who came to support the children.
The PTA continue to work hard on the KS1 library. I have had a sneak peak and I am amazed at the work and it’s not even complete. The PTA are running a competition where the children are being asked to draw a picture, the winning picture will be painted in the library. A donation of £1.00 is required to enter the competition.
Healthy living – I am pleased to announce that all the children are bringing in water to drink at break times and lunch times. Thank you to everyone for supporting this. Next week we will be focusing on break time snacks, we encourage children to only bring in fresh/dried fruit.
Have a lovely weekend!
